Join Me and The Moon as we celebrate Samhain's Spooky Season at our FREE monthly pop-up art event at Muckross! October's theme is HALLOWEEN and children will be creating their own spooky haunted house at this paper construction workshop. We’ll have lots of fun cutting, pasting and constructing.

Join Me and The Moon this Culture Night at Muckross The Schoolhouse, where we’ll be playing with photomontage. Photomontage is a type of collage using photographs as the main material. You can bring along your own photocopied image(s) and transform yourself to another world through drawing, cut and paste!

'BUILD' Workshop using Makedo tools

August's theme is HERITAGE WEEK and we'll be using building techniques and cardboard construction, while learning about thatched cottages. Children will have lots of fun using Makedo tools. Makedo is a series of safe cardboard construction tools purposely designed for kids to imagine and build the world they want to see.

Process-Art workshops will take place throughout the day at the spectacular setting of Muckross The Schoolhouse, in the heart of Killarney’s National Park.

Together, we will collaborate on a large mural which reflects the different areas of Muckross, such as the traditional farms where we'll be based, its animals, Killarney National Park, and the formal gardens.

Muckross Farm Animals Paper Construction Workshop 

Join Me and The Moon as we create 3D farm Animals at Muckross The Schoolhouse! Using paper, paint and card, we'll learn about the Italian Sculptor, Alberto Giacometti, and how he twisted materials to create fantastic works of art. 

This is an all inclusive workshop and children of all ages are welcome. Workshops will be adapted to suit age and skillset of participants. Workshops are free on a first come first served basis.

What can you make with clay? Let’s brainstorm together and explore. We will begin by sketching - shapes and lines become the inspiration for your piece. Next we will discover techniques and methods to create though play the possibilities of clay.

Children are given the freedom to create just about anything from clay and, in doing so, will learn how to process all their ideas into one tangible piece of art. This workshop explores the tactile nature of clay, while promoting self-expression and independent thought. The theme of each piece can be left open to the interpretation of the child.
