Create and Animate
Stop-Motion Animation workshops. Open to 3rd Class up to Transition year students in Kerry.
The workshops will develop conceptual, creative and storytelling skills, and will focus on the process of animation; from concept stage and storyboarding through to creating stop-motion animations.
The project will cover;
story development and storyboarding
set design
prop design
music/sound design
stop motion animation
editing in the application ‘Stop motion studio’
The project also offers Class Teachers the opportunity for cross-curricular learning, whereby subject matter could be informed by another project the children are working on at school; such as a science experiment or history project. The children could also originate the audio for their animation using a poem or song they’re learning in class.
Children will have the opportunity to share their animations with family and friends, as we will create an online gallery, where their work will be proudly showcased on completion.
We will utilise school iPads/tablets, using the application ‘Stop Motion Studio’. Animation styles we will look at:
found object
hand drawn
cut-out
claymation
