Culture Night in Killarney: Clay Culture Tiles

Join Me and The Moon this Culture Night at Muckross!

As Culture Night celebrates 20 wonderful years, we reflect on how the landscape of Irish Culture has evolved dramatically in that time. We have welcomed many new nationalities and cultures to our island. The ‘Culture Wall’ celebrates diversity of identity and cultures. Each child will brainstorm and make their own ‘culture tile’ using clay.

Children will be led by demonstration and will have lots of fun in the making. Timetabled workshops will take place at Muckross Garden Restaurant. Suitable for primary school children of all ages (5-12 years). Parents/caregivers are welcome to participate (limited space).

Workshops will take place at Muckross Garden Restaurant, Muckross House, Killarney. Ample free parking available. Please note, workshops are free, but pre-booking is required. Culture Night in Tralee: Makey Makey Music!

Join Me and The Moon this Culture Night at Collis Sandes House!

Together, we will design and build our own musical instruments, using cardboard and child-friendly Makedo™ Tools. Older children will also have the opportunity to bring their instruments to life and create real instrumental sounds using Makey Makey™ technology.

Children will be led by demonstration and will have lots of fun in the making. Timetabled workshops will take place in our art studio at Collis Sandes House. Although workshops are more suitable for children of primary school age, younger siblings are also welcome to come along, as well as parents/caregivers can stay and get stuck in too.

Me and The Moon has had the pleasure of visiting a number of schools across County Wicklow in preparation for this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg. The children’s work has culmintaed in an exhibition, which will take place at The Stable Studio, Killruddery on June 7th.

Dance, Move, Draw Workshops at Kerry County Museum

Drawing and mark making workshops responding to movement and dance. Workshops are free and are suitable for all ages; 5-15 years. Workshops take place on the hour and last for approximately 30 minutes.

About our Dance, Move, Draw project
In the lead up to Cruinniú na nÓg, we facilitated workshops in schools around the county.  These workshops document dance and movement through drawing, painting and mark making. Participants explored different ways to move their bodies, taking turns to draw and dance. They explored how their bodies move and how they can replicate that movement in large-scale group drawings, and also smaller personal drawings and paintings.  On 7th June for Cruinniú na nÓg, there will be a video showcase and a final workshop which will be open to all.

Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 at Killruddery with Me and Moon

Join Me and The Moon at The Fruit Room studio, within the walled gardens at Killruddery, for a fun day of free creativity.

Draw, blot, cut, paste and paint at Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 with Me and The Moon at Killruddery. We will look at the walled garden with our artists eye, then return to the studio and together create a mural using blot printing, collage, drawing and paint. We're very excited to have the Hot Dots joining us on the day and providing music; adding to the atmosphere with hot rags, intricate instrumental arrangements and close harmonies.
