Draw Sound

As part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2026, Me and The Moon, in collaboration with Composer @theluxalma are delivering a project to schools across Kerry, entitled ‘Draw Sound’. The project will explore sound creation, observation, drawing and movement.

We are currently collecting sounds from children around the county and, using the sounds the children have recorded, Alma will compose an original piece of music, which we will present on June 6th for Cruinniú na nÓg. Alongside the launch of the song, we’ll facilitate workshops in drawing and movement.

We invite children to attend our Cruinniú event on June 6th at the main hall at Collis Sandes House, Tralee. This will be a ticketed event. More info to follow.

Construct Fun!

Cardboard construction workshops with Me and The Moon.

Using a variety of tools and a sprinkle of Imbas (inspiration), what will you make? Led by demonstration, children will be shown cardboard construction techniques before building on their own unique ideas. Children can make their own constructions or collaborate on larger pieces. Our living exhibition will evolve throughout the day. Join in the fun!

All materials will be supplied on the day. Parents and caregivers are welcome to join in at this family-friendly workshop.

Timetabled workshops will take place throughout the day at The Stable Studio, Killruddery. Tickets are free but limited and booking is essential.

Join Me and The Moon as we get creative at our series of FREE pop-up art workshops at Muckross! We're so excited to host a monthly series of creative activities in the heart of Killarney's beautiful National Park. This June 6th, we'll celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg.

Children will led by demonstration and have the opportunity to explore the possibilities of paper construction inspired by the farm at Muckross. We’ll have lots of fun experimenting with our ideas and bringing them to life.

‘Imagine, Draw + Make’ Clay

Learning some modelling skills along the way; pinching, shaping, joining, and adding detail, children will have freedom to lead the theme for this workshop. This  hands-on workshop is great for all ages; the openness of the workshop gives children the freedom to explore creativity and enjoy the journey. It's all in the making!

'Into the future' Mural Collage Workshop

Join Me and The Moon at Kerry Science Fest 2025! We will create a group mural of our future self and surroundings.  We will use markers, watercolours and other drawing tools to create individual pieces that we will then collage together creating our collaborative mural.

Together, we will design and build our own musical instruments, using cardboard and child-friendly Makedo™ Tools. Older children will also have the opportunity to bring their instruments to life and create real instrumental sounds using Makey Makey™ technology.

Children will be led by demonstration and will have lots of fun in the making. Timetabled workshops will take place in our art studio at Collis Sandes House. Although workshops are more suitable for children of primary school age, younger siblings are also welcome to come along, as well as parents/caregivers can stay and get stuck in too.

As Culture Night celebrates 20 wonderful years, we reflect on how the landscape of Irish Culture has evolved dramatically in that time. We have welcomed many new nationalities and cultures to our island. The ‘Culture Wall’ celebrates diversity of identity and cultures. Each child will brainstorm and make their own ‘culture tile’ using clay.

Children will be led by demonstration and will have lots of fun in the making. Timetabled workshops will take place at Muckross Garden Restaurant. Suitable for primary school children of all ages (5-12 years). Parents/caregivers are welcome to participate (limited space).

Me and The Moon are excited to return to Mallow Arts Fest 2025!

We’ll be facilitating our ‘Build a Sustainable Future’ workshops this year using packaging and other recyclable materials.  For younger children, we’ll also have painting at easels. We can’t wait!

Workshops will take place throughout the day (11.30am-3.30pm with a break for lunch) at The Hibernian Hotel Function Room, Mallow.

Dance, Move, Draw Workshops at Kerry County Museum

Drawing and mark making workshops responding to movement and dance. Workshops are free and are suitable for all ages; 5-15 years. Workshops take place on the hour and last for approximately 30 minutes.

About our Dance, Move, Draw project
In the lead up to Cruinniú na nÓg, we facilitated workshops in schools around the county.  These workshops document dance and movement through drawing, painting and mark making. Participants explored different ways to move their bodies, taking turns to draw and dance. They explored how their bodies move and how they can replicate that movement in large-scale group drawings, and also smaller personal drawings and paintings.  On 7th June for Cruinniú na nÓg, there will be a video showcase and a final workshop which will be open to all.

Cruinniú na nÓg is a day of free creativity for children and young people all across Ireland. To celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg, children will explore cyanotype and monotype print using objects from nature. Weather permitting, we’ll venture into Collis Sandes Woods to collect found items from nature, which we’ll bring back and use as part of our workshop. Children will be led by demonstration and will have lots of fun in the making.

Join Me and The Moon at The Fruit Room studio, within the walled gardens at Killruddery, for a fun day of free creativity.

Draw, blot, cut, paste and paint at Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 with Me and The Moon at Killruddery. We will look at the walled garden with our artists eye, then return to the studio and together create a mural using blot printing, collage, drawing and paint. We're very excited to have the Hot Dots joining us on the day and providing music; adding to the atmosphere with hot rags, intricate instrumental arrangements and close harmonies.
